Larry Murphy's rookie season with the LA Kings in 1980-1981 was one for the record books. He set an NHL record for most points in a single season by a rookie defenseman, racking up an impressive 76 points (16 goals and 60 assists) and securing a spot on the NHL All-Rookie Team. Murphy's offensive prowess also helped the Kings clinch their first-ever playoff appearance.
